Remediation Complete at Former Colonial Bakery Site

Colonial Bakery delivery truck maintenance facility is successfully cleaned up.

King Park engaged IWM to address the remaining contamination at the former Colonial Bakery delivery truck maintenance facility. Once the buildings were demolished and the underground storage tanks removed, there was soil contamination to remediate. IWM was engaged to remove the top two feet of soil and asphalt, which represented approximately 4,500 tons of contaminated materials that were disposed of in a Subtitle D non-hazardous waste landfill before back-filling the site with clean soil. We look forward to seeing the redevelopment plans for this site unfold!
